I would love some ideas for CR meetings. In short, we have a prayer, read the CR purpose/guidelines, and whether one was tempted or used, sharing good news, short lesson, journals and close in prayer. I was thinking about viewing a movie recommended thru this site and then discussing it. I welcome and encourage all suggestions on lessons, and ideas from other leaders. Also I need to get in touch with other leaders for help and encouragement. Thanks! In Him,  |

Hi Rochelle, The group we have in Westchester varies what we do from time to time. We will watch a movie and discuss it afterward or if there is no time we will have each person write what they saw from the movie and bring it in the following week. We have watched several movies. Most are listed here on the site, some I have not had the chance yet. There is also a show on A&E called Intervention. I have recorded several of these and we will watch them also. We have often gone as a group to a twelve step meeting and discussed it afterward. What touched us, what we were grateful for and how CR differed from what we had attended, if it did. We have also given assignments to people coming through group to research different drug effects or to do a spiritual study on the twelve steps using relevant scripture. This was a great study. Hope these ideas help. I am interested to hear what others are doing out there.   |

When we watched a movie I would just show a clip and we'd discuss it that day so there was enough time . glad to see people still being helped all over the globe! |
