It is September 28, 2009 and world renowned film maker Roman Polankski has been arrested on a warrant from the US

Justice is blind for some.It is September 28, 2009 and world renowned film maker Roman Polankski has been arrested on a warrant from the US dating back from 1976. He is accused of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13 year old girl. He pled guilty to this charge but fled the country before he could start serving his time for this offence.
Polanski is finding great support for his cause among the French people who have harbored this fugitive since he fled the US.

Many top officials in France including the French President have expressed disagreement with Mr. Polanskis arrest. Other film makers have expressed outrage that a man of Mr. Polanskis talents should have to go through hardships like this.

The world is an evil place and is getting progressively worse. It is hard for a Christian to not be polluted by this kind of evil. A man perpetrates a crime on a child and flees his punishment and now because he has made a few movies, there is an outcry that he should be let off the hook for his crimes.

Leaders who should be concerned with upholding the moral good have instead taken the low road. Throwing their hats in with the criminals instead of calling for what is right. Willing to bend or break the rules to protect a friend.
The Chemical Recovery Ministry has a set of rules which we revisit at every meeting. One of the functions of the rules is to provide a tangible way by which we can determine whether we are working our recovery. Adhering to the rules is an indicator that we are taking our addiction and recovery seriously. There is an understanding in the group that the rules apply equally to everyone who is attending that evening. There is not one set of rules for one group and another set for a different group.

One of the eight traditions in the Chemical Recovery ministry is Biblical Authority. A key understanding around this tradition is that in group the authority belongs to God. There is no one in the group that can lord it over anyone else. This puts everyone on an even setting and ensures that everyone gets the help they need.
The world holds nothing for the Christian. It has no standard, no morals. Good is evil and evil is good. Wrong is right and right is wrong. Guilt and innocence is determined not by truth but by social standing.
The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:1 to test the spirits. Are we testing the spirits around us? The Bereans in Acts 17:11 refused to take Paul at his word but insisted that they examine the scriptures to ensure that what he said was accurate. God did not rebuke them for this but instead held them up as an example and a light to the rest of the church. They did not sacrifice truth for celebrity but held fast to the everlasting Word of God.
